Cytocast is a Hungarian biotech startup behind the Cytocast Digital Twin Platform, an advanced software solution that predicts drug side effects by simulating billions of molecular interactions within human cells. Relying on a wide range of available information on how complex cellular processes work, our solution is revolutionizing drug discovery by accelerating the overall process, reducing costs, and increasing clinical trial success rates. Our ultimate goal is to build a Digital Twin that can incorporate an individual patient’s data and suggest personalized treatments.
This position will focus on building and extending existing solutions to predict drug side effects from changes in how proteins interact due to perturbations. Having a background in biology or medicine is not strictly required.
Essential Duties Include but Are Not Limited To
- Be part of the ongoing research and development
- Data engineering (find, clean, and maintain biological datasets)
- Prepare internal reports on KPIs, and explore methods and tools to further improve them
- Follow the ongoing and relevant scientific literature, and incorporate it into our software
What we expect
- Medior-level data scientist or machine learning skills in Python
- Deep understanding of statistics
- At least 2-3 years of experience in startup or corporate environment
- At least medium English working proficiency
Preferred skills
- Experience with bioinformatics (biological background or worked with healthcare data)
- Experience with structural biology (and ML models predicting it, e.g., AlphaFold)
- Data visualization skills

You will be working with a dynamic, youthful team of 15 people. We are working in a hybrid setup, you can work remotely up to three days a week, with at least two days a week in our Budapest downtown office.

- Helping to establish our business infrastructure as we emerge from a purely R&D-focused mode
- Helping to build and manage a well-tuned Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database
- Assuring professional execution of company communication (mailings, postings, responses)
- Spotting and communicating potential for improvement in company processes
- Helping ensure a 100% positive customer experience
- Response and follow-up to customer expression of need
- Coverage for senior team members

- Prepare internal reports on KPIs, and explore methods and tools to further improve them
What we expect
- Medior-level machine learning skills (at least two years of experience in an ML-related position)
- Deep understanding of statistics
- Familiarity with Pytorch or Tensorflow, Scikit-learn, Pandas
- Experience with neural networks
- At least medium English working proficiency
- Familiar with unit testing (with frameworks like unittest, pytest or similar)
Preferred skills
- Experience with bioinformatics (biological background or worked with healthcare data)
- Experiment logging tools: Tensorboard, MLFlow or similar
- Data visualization skills
- Ability to optimize application performance in Python codebase
- Experience with Docker technology
- Experience with structural biology (and ML models predicting it, e.g. AlphaFold)
